REFUND POLICY

1. Overview
This Refund Policy describes the circumstances under which you may request a refund for purchases made through PreFile Check. We want you to be satisfied with our service, and we strive to handle all refund requests fairly.

2. 30-Day Refund Window
All refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the original purchase date. Requests received after 30 days will not be eligible for a refund.
3. Refund Eligibility
3.1 Full Refund — Eligible
You are eligible for a full refund if any of the following apply:
Service not used
You purchased additional rows but have not yet run AI classification on any of those rows.
Classification run, report not downloaded
You ran AI classification but have not downloaded your report (CSV, Excel, or PDF).
Technical failure
The service failed to function as described due to a technical error on our end (e.g., classification did not complete, file generation failed, repeated errors preventing use). We may ask you to describe the issue so we can verify and improve the service.
3.2 Not Eligible for Refund
Refunds are generally not available in the following circumstances:
Report downloaded
You have downloaded your completed report (CSV, Excel, or PDF). At this point, the core service has been fully delivered.
Dissatisfaction with AI output quality
AI classifications are probabilistic and may not match your expectations. As stated in our Terms of Service, AI outputs are not tax advice and are subject to inherent limitations including potential errors. Differences between AI-suggested categories and your preferred categories are not grounds for a refund.
Change of mind after use
You used the service as intended and received your report, but later decided you did not need it.
Violation of Terms of Service
Your account was suspended or terminated due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
3.3 Partial Refund — Case by Case
In situations not clearly covered above, we may offer a partial refund or service credit at our discretion. Examples include:
- You purchased more rows than needed and only used a small portion.
- The service was partially functional but did not complete all classifications.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email [email protected] with:
- The email address associated with your account
- Your approximate purchase date
- A brief description of why you are requesting a refund
We will review your request and respond within 7 business days. If approved, the refund will be processed to your original payment method through Stripe. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.
5. Stripe Processing
All payments and refunds are processed through Stripe, Inc. We do not have direct access to your credit card information. Refunds are issued to the same payment method used for the original purchase.
6. Free Features
PreFile Check allows you to upload expenses and preview AI classifications for up to 20 rows without payment. No refund is applicable to free features, as no payment was made.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify you by email. The version of this policy in effect at the time of your purchase will apply to that transaction.
